Busy Busy Busy

My life has felt so busy lately with Ryan's birthday party coming up and finishing up stuff at the house. My sister, Collin, and I took Ryan to meet my parents yesterday. He is staying with them for a week. That should help to get things done around here. I will miss him very much though! He was so excited to see Grandad last night. He went running down the side walk and jumped in his arms. I didn't know how the leaving in Granny and Grandads car without Mommy was going to go but it didn't even phase him. Before he got in I set up the DVD player for him. I opened the CARS DVD (his favorite movie!) to put in and I had packed the case and forgot to get the DVD out of the VCR. Luckily I had a DVD of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (which he also loves) and he didn't see the cars case so he was fine watching that. I talked to my mom when they were halfway back to their house and she said he had been in a good mood singing with Mickey and everything.
We try not to let Ryan watch too much TV but he definitely has his favorite cartoons. He of course loves the movie cars and is currently collecting all of the characters in a hot wheel set. He also loves Micky mouse club house which he used to call choo choo because of the movie Mickey Mouse Club House choo choo express. He loves Little Einsteins which he calls paw pi which we finally figured out he is trying to say blast off. There is a short show that comes on after some cartoons called shawn the sheep. There is no talking involved on the short cartoon but he loves it. He calls it baa. His new favorite is Chuggington a train show on Disney. He actually calls it chuggington. Sunday when we got home from church Ryan ran back into our room. I was changing to go grocery shopping and Nick was laying down. Ryan knows where we hid the remotes (guess we will have to find a new hiding spot) so he got them out and handed them to Nick and yelled Chuggington! Nick said no we aren't going to watch any TV right now. So he then yelled Paw pi! Nick said no TV right now. He then ran over to me and yelled Chuggington. I said no Ryan, Daddy already said no. He then yelled Paw pi! I again said no. So he then crawled up on the bed and looked at me again and said Chuggington. I again said no and he again said Paw pi. When I said no that time he looked at me with a very thoughtful look on his face and said UUUMMMM like he was thinking what else or how else he could ask to get us to turn on the TV. Nick and I laughed for a while because it was so cute. He did not get to watch TV but he got an A for effort!
So Monday I felt like an old lady. I found my self saying kids these days just don't have any respect and spending over an hour in hobby lobby when I went in to price fabric and get some cake pans. To explain the respect thing: We live on a corner house and teenagers from the local high school walk past our house on the way home. Instead of staying on the side walk they cut through our yard. I don't mind them cutting off a few steps but they cut so close that they can reach out and touch our house and if they were any closer they would be walking through the flower beds. I really don't like this. It makes me feel uncomfortable that they are so close to our house! So I caught a boy cutting a couple months ago and I ran out and I said hi I live here and I really don't like you all cutting through our yard. I said I don't mind you cutting but stay on that side of the trees (closer to the side walk). I said it's uncomfortable to have people cutting so close to our house because you can look right in our windows and I have children sleeping in the afternoon and our walls are not sound proof and they can hear someone talking right out side their rooms. He said okay. However, him and who I believe is his sister still cut right next to our house everyday! I told Nick that if I was mean and didn't have a toddler running around I would get an electric fence and zap them every time they cut through! Then, on Monday I was driving to run some errands and the sister of this kid I talked to was crossing the street with some friends. She saw me coming and she walked right back into the middle of the street (keep in mind their are sidewalks on both sides of the street), had her friends walk with her, and just walked down the middle and starred at me with a smirk on her face that said I'm a brat that gets what I want and I want to walk down the middle of the street causing you to stop until I pass. I sooooo wanted to hit her but didn't care to go to jail. I saw some other neighbors expressions while this was happening and could tell they were thinking the same thing I was. I wish I could do something about these brats with no respect for others but I don't care to put myself and my family in danger. Then at Hobby Lobby I was looking at fabric to start my curtain making. I forgot to measure before I went so I was just looking and pricing. Then I saw the cutest CARS fabric and bought two types of fabric, some iron on fabric stuff, stencils, and a toddler shirt to make a birthday shirt for Ryan. I am going to put birthday boy and the number 2 on it. Then I decided I was going to look at pillows, and wall decor, and photo frames, and cross stitch books, and all the cake stuff, and coloring pages, and clearance items. Needless to say I was there forever! I told Nick to order the pizza while I was there and I picked it up 45 minutes later. The girl mentioned yeah this pizza has been ready for a while haha. Oh well! It was still yummy.

So Ryan is having a cars bday party. I finally sent out the invites this week. They say speed on over to Ryan's 2nd birthday party with a picture of lightning McQueen, a race day, start time, and race track address. I thought they were pretty cute. I was proud of myself for making them. I then bought I lightning McQueen cake pan so I can bake and decorate his cake. I also bought CARS cup cake holders to make cupcakes. I'm excited about his party!

Well the C man (my nephew Collin) is trying to help me type and he is acting tired and this has been a long post so I better attend to him. There will be pics to come in the next couple weeks of the house!

Finally...A Blog

Here it is! I finally have finally entered the blogging world! I don't know how many times I will update. I like to write what's going on though so it could be every day or every other day. I guess we will see! Most of my stories will most likely be about my most favorite person ever Ryan. He is growing up so fast. I can't believe he will be 2 in less than a month! He played outside by himself for the first time today. It is so nice out. I was out side with a short sleeve shirt on and it felt great! Usually when I try to get him to play in the back yard by himself he just stands at the door until he gets bored of standing there and then just cries until I let him back in. I went out with him today and ran inside to grab something. When I realized he wasn't standing at the door crying and he was actually exploring the back yard, drawing on the cement slab with his sidewalk chalk, playing with his sand box tools, and trying to figure out how to get to the front I decided to stay inside and get some cleaning done in the kitchen. We have a big sun room that is only windows so I can stand in the kitchen and see where he is the whole time so between Nick and I watching from inside he was okay.

Ryan was sooo fussy when he decided he was hungry for lunch. He refused to eat what we fixed for dinner last night and I know he likes the stuff we made because he has eaten it before. So since he refused to eat it he didn't have anything to eat before bed. Then he didn't eat a very big breakfast either so he was probably very hungry. I told him I was making him a grilled cheese sandwich and I couldn't make it for him fast enough. He stood in the kitchen crying with tears streaming down his face. I decided to be tricky and put some broccoli in the grilled cheese so I was very pleasantly surprised when he ate most of it. He ended up falling asleep in his high chair while he was eating so I think he would have eaten all of it if he wouldn't have fallen asleep. I wish I would have taken a picture before I got him out. It was so cute. He was sitting in the chair with his head laying on the side sound asleep but he was holding his sippy cup with both hands like he grabbed it to take a drink but fell asleep before he got it to his mouth.

We are making progress with the house. I have about 1/4 of the hallway left to texture and then the guest bathroom to texture which hopefully won't take to long since half of it is the shower, cabinets, and the mirror. Then my texturing will be complete! Yea!!!! After that Nick will paint the guest bedroom and we will decide if we like that color enough to paint the hallway and guest bath in that color. We also may repaint Ryan's room. We chose a color that we thought was a light brown but after we painted it and it dried it turned out to be this mix between brown, pink, and purple. It isn't too bad but I think it is ugly and it is definitely not a color for a little boys room. After we paint the bathroom Nick will put the base boards back down and then put a new toilet in so we can have a second bathroom again yea!!!. Right now Nick is painting the door that he is going to put up between the kitchen and the laundry room so the washer and dryer won't be so loud now. Then he will need to finish putting the base boards and chair rail up in our bedroom and the base boards back in the guest bedroom and hallway and the shadow boxes in the living room and we will be done!!! Woo hoo. We want to have it done by the 27th for Ryan's birthday party so it won't be much longer! I can't wait!
